Piper is getting close to her 2nd birthday! It’s only 2 months away, and I have no idea where the time has gone. I thought I’d share some fun photos from her circus themed 1st birthday party.
I had so much fun planning this party. I may have went a little overboard since the likelihood of Piper remembering it is pretty slim, but she’ll have the pictures to look at when she’s older.
A girl can’t go to a party without being a little dressed up, so I went to work on getting Piper glammed up. I ironed on gold glittery O-N-E letters to a onesie, added a gold tutu, and Piper was set for her first birthday party!
Face painting! A balloon twister! Some itty-bitty carnival games, and a blow up pool filled with plastic balls! Piper and her friends had a great time!
Of course Piper’s best friend Kolton was there, too!
Our dessert table was a hit. I glued circus animals to the tops of mason jars, painted them white, and filled them with trail mix and candy. We ordered lollipops with the letter P on them, cupcakes with paper fans, and my mother-in-law baked a gluten-free vanilla and chocolate cake for Piper and her guests to share (we hadn’t introduced her to gluten quite yet due to family allergies). To tell you the truth, the dessert table was more of a decoration then anything else. Most of the kids were too small for candy and cake. Note to self: the next party doesn’t need so much candy 🙂
And what’s a first birthday party without some kind of cake smash? We opted to give Piper a piece of cake to do with what she pleased. I think she ended up eating two bites—I was happy with that decision.
For a little take home treat, we did animal cracker boxes with a ‘thank you for coming’ note. I’d say Piper’s first birthday party was a huge success. Now it’s time to start planning her 2nd birthday party!
