Baby Wearing Days :: Learning To Wrap

Baby wearing has always felt like a big puzzle to me…wrapping ALL THAT FABRIC around your body to somehow safely hold the most precious person in your life; that little baby who is solely dependent on you and that wrap to keep them safe. It seemed impossible and was more then scary. I didn’t even try to wrap Piper. We always used a structured baby carrier; it worked, and I was comfortable with it. There was no way she was going to fall out and it fit every time with the click of a couple buckles. That made me feel safe and as a new parent and that is the best feeling possible.

Danielle has always wrapped her babies from a very early age. She had it down with Kolton in the first weeks of his life. This may not be accurate, but it seemed like she could just whip that fabric around and have her baby safe and snug against her in a matter of seconds. So naturally she would wrap Shayne and be a ‘master’ at it!

Kenzie is an entirely different baby then Piper in almost every single way. She is VERY attached to me and has a hard time letting other people hold her or care for her. When it comes to playing with Piper, my very active three year old, I only had one hand to do so, which wasn’t very fare to her. As much as I absolutely love how devoted Kenzie is to me it can make getting every day tasks done difficult. This is why I decided to try using a wrap. I tried a few different kinds and couldn’t get the hang of it.. it takes some getting used to and you don’t want to test it if you aren’t positive you have it on right. I couldn’t live with myself if I did something to hurt my child! Then I found the Stekki Bebe all in one baby wrap. For a beginner, like myself, it works great. The super soft nylon/spandex blend wrap is so easy to use. It is stretchy and feels secure holding the baby.

I watched the tutorial on the Stekki Bebe website to learn how to properly use the wrap and got a couple extra pointers from Danielle. Now I feel confident wearing Kenzie around the house, shopping and chasing after Piper, she is getting really fast on her tricycle! The Stekki Bebe wrap is made for land, air and sea, being UV50 you can be confident keeping your baby safe from the warm sun. I also LOVE the color! I am excited to try the Stekki Bebe wrap in the pool when the weather warms up or if I can get away for a tropical vacation with the family {a girl can dream} !!

Wearing Kenzie close to me makes things around the house a lot easier and feels good. I love having her right there snug against my chest. I guess I’m a wrapping mama after all!
