Maui Vibes

Watching the rain pour down on this January afternoon, has caused me to sit back and reminisce about our wonderful, tropical vacation to Maui, Hawaii. Life has been so hectic since our return so time has gotten away from me. I can’t believe it has been over two months since our plane landed and we were able to experience paradise. This was not our first trip to Hawaii, but it was our first trip since having Shayne, and our very best family vacation yet.

We stayed at the Hyatt Residence Club and spent most of our time at the Hyatt Regency Resort and Spa next door, since we had access to both. Our last visit in Maui when Kolton was only 11 months old, we passed The Hyatt and decided it was the place we would visit next. The pools and the aesthetics were breathtaking then and even more so now. The grounds are so beautifully maintained and makes you feel like you are on a tropical paradise island (this is in fact true of course), with no one around (this part is not true since the island is packed with vacationers just like us). img_3152img_2907img_2914

We went from the pool at the Hyatt Residence Club to the pool at the Hyatt Regency, depending on how busy it was and what the kids were in the mood for. Kolton loved the fountains at both and would run through each of them for hours at a time.img_2989img_3026img_3033img_3029

Shayne loved the sand more than anything but also loved splashing in the mini pools. She was constantly tried to keep up with her big brother.

My little dare devil was even brave enough to go into the ocean with Daddy. She had such a blast and did not want to leave the beach.

They have penguins on site, and some other magnificent birds throughout the property. they are all very well taken care of and we learned a little about most of them. Taking this tour was free, and we highly recommend it to any guests staying at the hotel. It was perfect for us with two small children, since their attention spans are not so great sometimes, and we were able to walk away and take breaks without missing too much. The tour guide was very informative and seemed to be very passionate about the animals.

We planned to do a stargazing activity that the Hyatt Regency offers called Tour of the Stars, but Shayne had a slight fever our last night so we stayed decided to stay in. Next time we would love to check it out. Doing activities at night was tough for us due to the time change. Maui is 3 hours earlier than us so the kids were in bed super early every night.

The view from the Hyatt Regency was spectacular and we weather was perfect our entire trip. We loved taking gorgeous photos overlooking the pool and the ocean.img_3188

Leaving Maui was incredibly difficult. Kolton still talks about our trip, and we are already planning our next visit. We are thinking about making this a yearly vacation spot. Next year we would love to take the kids to The Drums of the Pacific Lu’au at the Hyatt Regency. I have been to it years ago and I know they will LOVE it!

Mahalo, Maui… until next time!

xoxo
